Charts

Many traders like to use their own separate charting programs because they are used to them and like them. That's fine! You can use any charting program you wish and just run SwingTrader alongside it. In fact there are many excellent charting software packages available including some very good free ones.

The charting feature in SwingTrader is not designed to be a totally comprehensive charting package to replace software designed specifically for the purpose. However:

It certainly allows you to very quickly examine the chart for any symbol in your watch list. The chart is a candlestick chart.
It displays prospective trades on the chart (see separate page and the picture below)
It displays all past closed trades on the chart for any given optimised symbol (see picture below)

If a moving average is used as part of the optimised SST strategy it will automatically be displayed on the chart as below.
Over time we will add to the features available on charts but these are not necessary for day to day use of SwingTrader.
